Una Notte, la Montagna è caduta

"The photographic memory of public places is the subject of a history which has been, since the mid-nineteenth century, from one subject to another, extending and renewing itself.

In order to feed this photographic memory, french institutions Ardi-Photographies and DRAC Normandy initiated in 2012 a photographic campaign focusing on the norman prefectures of Calvados, Manche and Orne, whose achievement was entrusted to Céline Clanet.

This singular project which aims to discover private areas of the norman prefectures, allows to expose in a new angle the close ties existing between power and photography. These private housing and reception areas, designed for the needs of public service permanence, are also a legitimate incarnation of the republican institution. They contain remarkable elements and testify of evolutions of the Republic representation. "
